Introducing PivotHire: AI-Powered Engineering, On Demand
Today we're launching PivotHire — a platform that connects startups and growing companies with vetted engineering talent, matched and managed by AI.
We're Live
After months of building, testing, and iterating with early partners, PivotHire is officially open. The platform is designed for two audiences: businesses that need engineering work delivered fast, and talent that wants to work on real projects without the overhead of traditional freelancing.
This post walks through the core experience on both sides.

Authentication supports GitHub, Google, and email. The right side previews what the platform delivers: a structured project timeline that tracks every phase from requirements through deployment.
For Businesses
Your Command Center
Once signed in, the dashboard gives you a live overview of everything in motion — active projects, completed milestones, pending tasks, and overall progress at a glance.

Each project card shows its milestone completion and current status. You can post a new task directly from the dashboard and track it through to delivery.
Project Management
Every project gets its own workspace. The Overview tab shows a visual timeline of project phases — which milestones are complete, what's currently in progress, and what's coming next. A live demo link lets you preview the work as it ships.

AI-Powered Project Chat
The Chat tab connects you to PivotHire Agent — an AI assistant with full context on your project's codebase, architecture, and recent changes. Ask about implementation details, summarize what changed this week, or explore the project structure without scheduling a call.

Built-In Ticket Tracking
The Tickets tab provides a lightweight issue tracker built directly into the project workspace. File bug reports with structured reproduction steps, track open and closed issues, and keep all project communication in one place.

Business Verification
To maintain trust and quality across the platform, we verify business identities through Stripe. Verified businesses receive a trusted badge on their profile, and talent can work with confidence knowing who they're building for.

For Talent
Guided Onboarding
New talent members walk through a structured setup flow: verify your identity, sign the required agreements, configure your payout method, and build your profile. Each step is clear and sequential — no guesswork about what's needed to start receiving projects.

Your Profile
The profile editor lets you present your skills, experience, and availability. Set your primary area of expertise, list your tech stack, specify your languages, location, timezone, and working hours. This is what the matching system uses to pair you with the right projects.

Skill Qualification
Before accessing projects in a given technology, talent completes a qualification assessment. We offer assessments across the major frontend and backend frameworks — React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Node.js, Express, Python, Django, Java, and Spring Boot. Each assessment has a Starter and Pro tier.
A note on integrity: we don't use proctoring or surveillance. The qualification exists to ensure you can deliver. If the skills don't match, the work won't get done — and the platform is designed around that accountability.

Documents & Agreements
Required legal documents — including tax forms (W-8BEN), mutual contractor agreements, and NDAs — are managed directly in the platform. All signatures are processed securely through Dropbox Sign.

Platform-Wide
Settings & Customization
The settings page lets you configure your preferred language, choose a code theme for the built-in file browser (GitHub, Atom, Dracula, Nord, and more), and link your Gitea account for seamless code collaboration and ticket synchronization.

What's Next
This launch is the starting point. Over the coming weeks, we'll be rolling out:
- Discovery feed for talent to browse and apply to open projects
- Automated matching powered by our AI agent, pairing projects with qualified talent based on skills, availability, and past performance
- Milestone-based payments with escrow protection for both sides
- Team collaboration features for multi-engineer projects
We're building PivotHire to make high-quality engineering accessible to every company that needs it, and to give talented engineers a better way to do meaningful work. If that sounds like something you're looking for — on either side — we'd love to have you.
